Chris King developed the InSet 8 headset to accommodate thetapered 1-1/8″ to 1-1/4″ steerer tubes present in todays roadand cyclocross bikes. A traditional 1-1/8″ steerer tube will be accomodate by use of an optionally available Devolution 1-1/4″ to 1-1/8″ baseplate.The InSet 8 presents a well-designedaesthetic fit by streamlining the 44mm headtube and headset cupinterface without compromising Chris King’s industry leadingfunction and durability.Aluminum cups in many different colors house the legendary bearings; all made in-house in Chris Kings’s Portland, Oregon facility. Like a semi-integrated headset it has a low-stack press-in upper cup, which houses the bearings within the headtube allowing for an overall lower ride height. Additionally the InSet i8 features a GripLock cap.
